--Advisory 21 June 2006--
The official Save the Riser campaign founded on 3 June under the chairmanship of Geoff Virgo, and the STR steering group, and STR community web site found at www.savetheriser.org, wish to remind all STR supporters and friends that the primary objective of the STR campaign is to protect the choice and community found at the Rising Sun public house in Epsom through positive constructive campaigning. STR wish to intelligently demonstrate to Young's that populating the Rising Sun pub with all Young's products is a negative business decision, and will not play well with the market the Roberts' have built up over the past few years.
STR is not a conduit for anti-Young's sentiment. STR have enjoyed constructive dialog with Young's on more than one occasion. STR wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Young's for taking STR's concerns seriously. And yes every once in a while STR do not mind a drop of Young's beer. STR's point is not every pub is suited to being a Young's pub.
Sadly, a serious allegation has been made regarding an individual who allegedly claimed to be representing the official Save The Riser campaign. This allegation is being investigated and Save The Riser will post a further update when more news is available.
Important, acting as a loose cannon outside the clear and coordinated structure of the peaceful and organised STR campaign, only serve to damage STR's constructive relationship with Young's.
Eleven hundred people, a range of media organisations, political representatives, and respected industry bodies believe and support the work of STR, and all parties should be assured that the allegation relates only to a single individual acting alone without the knowledge or consent of the STR committee.
The official STR campaign wishes to let it be known that we the founding members of STR publicly deplore any act which potentially could be perceived by Young's to cause harm to any persons or property connected with Young and Co.
People wishing to support STR should contact us using the information provided on our web site, and we will be glad to provide you with a range of constructive and positive activities with which you can engage.
Thank you for your attention.

Message from Ruth and David
We are both very grateful for all the efforts being made by STR to retain choice for your local.
However it has come to our attention that someone, acting independently, has upset Young's by reaching John Young, a man whom we understand is, sadly, struggling with illness.
This will not create a constructive atmosphere whilst we are still negotiating with Young's.
We do appreciate that there are strong feelings surrounding this issue but actions like this cannot do any good whatsoever.
We would request that any contact with Young's be of a positive and constructive nature.
Ruth and David Roberts
